A VIEW TO KALEVALALA AND ELIAS LÖNNROT'S SAMMATTI On this trip, we will get to know the birthplace of Elias Lönnrot, the creator of our national epic, and the landscapes of his birth home. The trip can accommodate 5-30 participants. The trip is made, either by own cars or by bus transport. The journey takes about four hours. The journey takes a total of about 10 kilometers. We start from the parking lot of Sammati Church and head towards Elias' birthplace Paikkarin Torppa. With this, Miina Lönnrot (Virko Kolulahti) tells stories about the events of the early 19th century and how Elias became our national writer. We also visit Miina Cottage, the residence of Elias Lönnrot's niece, a long-time housekeeper. From here we move on to the workshop of Art Blacksmith Mika Munter, where we get to know the work of a blacksmith who do on his art from the Kalevala.
